In the Spring I tossed some of my designs on the walls of Midnight Oil Coffee Shop. I made this little sun fellow to try to capture the vibe of the coffee shop as a little character.

My family has a lot of chickens and they all have names. I created this chicken-patterned wrapping paper based on a few of my favorites, including a couple who have moved on to the big chicken coop in the sky.

Water bugs are some of the nastiest looking things, so naturally this piece makes one hairier, scarier, and large enough to eat people. The overall environment was inspired by my limited experience with the Pacific Northwest.

A couple years ago I wrote a children’s style book about squirrels for my (now) husband’s birthday. Recently I re-illustrated the book using cut paper.

This class project was a collaboration with elementary students. The students drew monsters for us and we illustrated them for pop-up books. This monster is named Peter and he likes football!

Third grader Glavin and I worked on creating a monster that didn’t exist yet. He came up with the concept, and I helped to bring it to life! Beast is a monster that loves fish, lives in Guatemala, and has great big ears.

I made these veggie and fruit characters for a Public Service Announcement about elderly food insecurity. I was aiming to try to keep an encouraging vibe to move toward improvement while covering a pretty big and serious problem.



I made these veggie and fruit characters for a Public Service Announcement about elderly food insecurity. I was aiming to try to keep an encouraging vibe to move toward improvement while covering a pretty big and serious problem.

Our class got to work with a class of third graders on this project. We spent time with the kids as they drew monsters and told us about them, then we illustrated the monsters in our own style.
